I am looking for a new guitar?

I have a cheap beginner model guitar that I got as a package (its a Beringer V-tone pack) well I have been playing guitar for about a year. I basically want to know some good guitar brands (not interested in Gibson les paul..too heavy.) Basically I want a guitar that is light weight, looks cool, has 24 frets (more the better right), a 3 toggle switch, I want to play Rock and maybe metal if that helps, and I want something that is easy to play, I’m not sure what scale on my guitar but I think mine is like 25 1/2 i think.
PS: What do you think of schecter guitars?

Thanks!

I would go with either a dean vendetta 4.0 or a b.c. rich guitar. The vendetta is about $630 at Guitar Center and has a Floyd Rose Tremolo bar. Some b.c. rich guitars also have a tremolo bar, and are great for metal, and look awesome. You can get a good one for about $500-700.

What to use to mount the switches/knobs/lamps/leds on in a control panel?

I want to control some lighting and audio using a series of toggle switches and knobs, with a bunch of LEDs or lamps just to make it look ‘interesting.’ This just a home/hobby application. I can build a wooden frame to hold all the internals, but how about the material on TOP of the frame, that all the control panel elements are mounted to? I would assume that there is some kind of thin, light, drillable sheet metal (brushed stainless, maybe?) that is made specifically to use in this fashion, but I have no idea where to search for such a thing.

Why don’t you use a thin piece of stainless steel, plastic sheet/plexiglass, or even thin plywood (available in many hobby shops as model airplane material) as a plate to mount all the components?
